The following day, I had bought a beautiful bouquet of flowers because I was meeting a friend for lunch. I had missed her birthday, and I knew she wouldn’t be expecting this. As I walked into the cafe, I saw her sitting at the table. She looked stunning, as always. I handed her the flowers, and she looked at me in shock. “What’s this for?” she asked.
